Episode Rio Bravo. Western, which lasted 141 min. - USA 1959.

Many of the clichés of Western movies are shown in this film, which sees the sheriff John T. Chance (John Wayne) dealing with a group of bandits led by the evil and sadistic Nathan Burdette (John Russell), a wealthy landowner of the place, whose band is responsible for repeated violence and crimes in the town of Rio Bravo. Chance
arrested for murder Joe Burdett, the brother of Nathan, but the gesture cost him the growing hostility of the local squire. To meet the threats, Chance can only count on help from the deputy sheriff drunk Dude (Dean Martin), the old cripple and petulant Stumpy (Walter Brennan), the young gunslinger "Colorado Ryan (Ricky Nelson) and the fascinating gambler Feathers (Angie Dickinson).
This heterogeneous group, and suddenly found each other in friendship and abetting the key to courageously face the merciless fight against the gang of Burdette. In return, everyone can find a way to redeem his own humble existence without any sort of glory.
Behind the finale there is the deep meaning of the film, that any error can be redeemed by a bold venture.
To remember the beautiful duet sung by Dude (Martin) and Colorado (Nelson) as well as Mephistopheles Deguello which highlights the strong scenes.

sets of Old Tucson, where he was girato il film, sono costruiti in scala 7:8, cosicché gli attori sembrino più grandi di quanto siano in realtà.
La canzone "My Rifle, My Pony and Me" fu inizialmente inserita nel film Il fiume rosso, western sempre diretto da Hawks e interpretato da Wayne. Il titolo originale era "Settle Down".
Per i primi quattro minuti completi of the film - including the opening titles - the action unfolds without any dialogue.
The film was produced by Howard Hawks and John Wayne as a sort of response to High Noon, film and judged in a negative way "anti-American by both. [Citation needed]
U.S. director John Carpenter has frequently referred to a Rio Bravo as one of his favorite movies: we can find references to the film in many of his hits, from District 13: Assault on death to the most recent Ghosts of Mars.
In 2002, a survey by the magazine Sight and Sound, brought to various directors, Quentin Tarantino wrote a dollar credit to second place in 12 of his favorite film, after The Good, the Bad, bad for Sergio Leone.
the middle of the film, Colorado (Ricky Nelson) by contacting the friends says: "At this time Burdette is talking, you hear this song?, Were playing at the Alamo when the Generalissimo Santa Anna bottled those of the Mission", in reality, no one was bottled, but it was a voluntary act of Col. Travis and his men to buy time to allow the General Sam Houston to gather people to deal with the Mexican army.
